Google in Wales: Getting Welsh Businesses Online

Google and the Welsh Government have announced a twelve month programme of free consultations and workshops aimed at helping small businesses set up web sites or improve their Internet presence. According to Google's own figures, as many of 40% of Welsh SMEs [Small and Medium Sized Enterprises] do not have a web presence and only a third of web sites are e-commerce enabled. The first 'Google Juice Bar' event was launched by Business Minister Edwina Hart and  Google UK MD Ed Cobley on 6 March at the Coal Exchange, Cardiff Bay. After an initial three month drive in South Wales, Google will be rolling out the initiative across the whole of Wales.
